I am just Junco Book Three

Junco and her team must travel to earth in order to save The Siblings of Earth. Along the way Junco finds that everywhere she turns is full of secrets and revelations. What if you had the power to save a race of beings at the cost of the other? Junco may be strong willed but what she faces back on Earth will be a trial even for her.

I love Junco she is a loud mouthed character who doesn’t take crap from anyone. Plus she cusses like a sailor and chain smokes cigars, what’s not to love? What was annoying in this book though was that the men in Junco’s life seemed to turn into whining and needy men, each one vying for Junco’s attention and pouting if she didn’t reciprocate. Other than that the book is pretty good with tons of action and adventure, and so many twists it is hard to keep count. I did have one question, at the end of the book how did they keep everything straight? That’s all I will say or I will run the risk of ruining the book for those who haven’t yet read it. This is one of those books though you definitely want to read the rest of the series before jumping in. From page one this book held my attention I wasn’t a fan of the ending but it is definitely a great way to make sure you keep reading the series.

Dana Carlson is demolishing a building when her niece calls telling her that her sister is sick and needs her. Dana Carlson rushes to Black Bear Minnesota only to find out she is a few hours late. The longer Dana stays, the more she realizes her niece and brother in law need her and what killed her sister may take the rest of her family if she doesn’t put a stop to it.

There are not a lot of surprises with this novel; it is more a play on the emotions. The revelations are a bit predictable but this is still a great read as the author creates a dramatic novel worthy of the best soap opera. The only problem I had was in the ending. I am starting to see a pattern with really good dramatic novels; most of them have horrible endings. I always want more, what happened to Dana, or Peyton, or even Peyton’s fish? This is why I am a huge fan of the epilogue. Other than that it is a beautiful read, and if Carla Buckley had not created such wonderful characters I wouldn’t want to find out what happens so badly.

Shelby Pardow doesn’t have the easiest life, her father is abusive and her mother is long gone. Shelby uses the library as her escape, one day she is at one of the computer when she gets an incoming massage that reads: You Are Needed. She is soon transported to Azimuth where it turns out she is Kin to one of the six Aulic Assembly members who are imprisoned by an evil warlord. Shelby with the help of the other Kin will soon be thrust head first into a battle to stop Malefic once and for all.

 

This is one of those novels that I just could not put down. From the beginning Michael Dadich displays a phenomenal ability to involve the reader into the storyline with an emotional entrance into the novel as Shelby’s father is tormenting her through to the transformation she undergoes as the story progresses. Not only does the author pull you in emotionally but he also creates some highly unique creatures as well as the setting of the book making each scene more fascinating than the next. I certainly had a lot of fun reviewing this book and I look forward to seeing what Michael Dadich will come up with next.

It all begins with a bet. Paul Stratford makes a bet with his business partner, Jonathon Mackenzie, that his step daughter will not be seduced by Jonathon’s son. So the two of the devise a scheme to have Megan and Drew in each other’s way to see who will win.

Drew and Megan seem to be a match made in Hades but the further book goes along the more the two seem to become something so much more. This was a fun book with quite a few unexpected twists. Though some editting is still needed for this novella Adriana Law has come up with a brilliant story with plenty of potential as the series continues. I did have one big problem with this book and of course it is towards the end so I cannot say what it is without a spoiler alert but I will say it is just my personal opinion and not everyone will see it the same way I do.

**Spoiler Alert**

Safe sex c’mon they even talk about how Megan doesn’t want to have sex without a condom because of her fear of Contracting HIV. Good job there, but when she finds out Drew is a virgin it seems it’s ok to have unprotected sex. But wait! How do we know that Megan doesn’t already have a nasty STD she is about to pass on to poor unsuspecting Drew?

Other than that the story is great the romance is beautiful the plot twists are truly surprising and may make you want to resort to physical violence towards one or more of the characters, and at 112 pages it is definitely worth the quick read.

Gabriel March is barely keeping her head above water as her promise to keep her father’s newspaper going may sink her financially. As she is struggling to find a way to pay the electric bill a strange summons comes in the mail from Elizabeth Hastings. Elizabeth is determined to right a terrible wrong that was exacted on Gabrielle March’s family.

This was a great book, full of finding love and becoming a part of a family, but also mystery and intrigue this is a phenomenal romance novel. I loved Elizabeth Hastings though she wasn’t a main character exactly she was my favorite. Elizabeth Hastings is an eccentric rich old lady and Christie McKee truly brings her to life through snippets of her past as well as being a part of the story that is currently taking place. I review the entire book the writing, the story line, the characters, as well as the presentation of the novel. In this case I don’t understand the cover, the only thing that seems to fit is the dog, I mean the story is about a person who becomes super rich and the man she falls in love with who she first mistakes as a millionaire playboy who does nothing with his life. When I see the couple in the picture it does not scream wealth like the characters in the story did. Besides the cover I could not find anything wrong with this novel, the author is an impressive composer and has brought to life some amazing scenes, the storyline is fun and entertaining, it is definitely a book worth reading.

We’ll be Home For Christmas

Lila spent three days wanting nothing more to wallow in the failure of her marriage when she ends up having an affair with a man. A few months later she is now sitting in front of Austin, and though he has the same name as the man who consumed her for three glorious days and nights he is not the man she knew so intimately. That is when Spence walks in, the man she knows as Austin.

This was such a cute story I loved the characters and the family dynamic that takes place between HelenKay Dimon’s characters. She also managed to create some beautiful scenes from the resort that is falling down to the steamy love scenes, the author is able to capture each moment, each thought and feeling so vividly that this  is an amazing read.

Ask her at Christmas

Caitlin has been in love with Kyle for years but he is her best friend so she will not go into that territory. One day Kyle asks her to help him propose to his girlfriend.

Ok so this story is a miss for me. First off Kyle doesn’t love his girlfriend he just wants to marry her to make his dad happy. Then Caitlin just sits back and lets it happen. But it is cute and like all great fluffy romances has a happy ending. I did enjoy the scenes that Christi created; she truly brings Christmas to life.

Brody is the town playboy at last year’s Christmas party Brody acted on his feelings and finally kissed Tori. Tori didn’t react the way he thought she would ever since she had given him the cold shoulder to cover up her feelings; she has had a crush on him for years but will never make a move on them because she knows he will just leave her with a broken heart.

The playboy and the good girl fall in love? I loved it this is a great romance novella Brody and Tori and two characters that are lovable and the romance between them is beautiful as each one has their own insecurities that they must overcome in order to be in a relationship. Not only does Jaci Burton create two amazing characters but she also manages to create an entire family that is fun to read about, and what is a Christmas story without family?

Humankind was forced into the depths of the earth soon forming a new society called the Tri-realms, with three distinct realms Moon, Star, and Sun. The Moon realm is the furthest into the ground and this is where the “Pen” is. The Pen is a penitentiary and houses anyone who has committed a crime or anyone who may cause crime in Adele’s case since she is sentenced to life imprisonment for something her father did. One day Tristan the son of the President and a sun dweller comes down to the moon realm and as soon as he lays eyes on Adele he feels an over powering connection. But soon a war breaks out amongst the three realms everyone’s life will be irrevocably altered.  

Am I the only person who has caught the similarities between the Mormon’s Three Kingdoms of Heaven and the Tri-realms? I mean the Three Kingdoms of heaven are broken down into the Sun, The Stars, and The Moon Kingdoms. Each one holding a different set of people but since this is the Moon book I will focus there, The Moon realm houses the poorest and the worst people in society; The Kingdom of The Moon is for liars, thieves, and the worst kinds of people. This is not a bad thing the three kingdoms of heaven is a great bases for a story I just can’t believe in all of the reviews I have read No One has pointed it out. The story itself is amazing full of romance and action, David Estes’ is a magnificent writer who is able to bring to life each scene making this a great dystopian novel.  I have to give the author his credit though, not only did he dedicate the book to his wife but he named the main character after her, if that didn’t win him brownie points then I don’t know what would.

Natalya Stravincky is working to rebuild her relationship with her family and rejoin the ranks of her New Jersey pack. Suddenly her father goes missing she soon finds out that he owes a debt to the Russian werewolf mafia and she must work to repay his debt so they will free him. Along the way she gets assistance from various sources including her ex-boyfriend who is now engaged to someone else and she still loves, and a wizard who is patiently waiting for her to come around and see that he is the right man for her.

 

Ok so even though this is a paranormal romance there is so much more to it than just that, first off we have Nat who has OCD. I mean come on a werewolf with OCD I love it! Then the author encompasses several side stories that are absolutely fascinating in their own right, making this one book that is hard to put down. In a lot of books where two men are vying for the attentions of one woman you always get the sense of who the author is leaning towards, this is not the case in this book which is a pleasant surprise that leads me to wonder if the author knew or just decided at the end who Nat would end up with. I haven’t read the first book in this series yet but the author does a wonderful job encompassing enough of what happened previously to catch you up but still make you want to read it if you have not.  I personally hope I will get the chance to read the beginning and the rest; I am dying to know what happens next.

Bellamy Lyston Price never wanted to be associated with the bestseller that she wrote. She had written it for purely therapeutically reasons, but when it is found out that she is the author and the book is based on the murder of her sister when she was twelve years old she is thrown into the limelight. Now as she is going home a sleazy reporter implies that maybe the police convicted the wrong man and she along with her sister’s boyfriend of the time she was murdered collaborates to find out whether the cops had it right or worse, wrong.

Sandra Brown has created an interesting suspense novel full of twists and turns that will lead you deeper down the rabbit hole as it turns out that Bellamy’s sister, Susan, was not quite what Bellamy has remembered and is a much darker character than anyone would first imagine. Full of romance and murder I loved this book, though it is a romance it wasn’t “heavy” on the romance but leaned more towards the mystery side of the story which is a refreshing change. One of the things I found unique is that from the beginning you know who is after Bellamy and why, the fun part is there is more to the villain than first meets the eye as well as being remarkably crazy, but in the end Sandra Brown still has a few tricks up her sleeve to surprise you. All in all this is one heck of a thrill ride and certainly worth the read.

They must stick together since Sam is only twelve and Jacob fifteen they will do anything they can to keep from having Child Protective Services separate them. Since Sam begins to draw too much unwanted attention from men Jacob has her cut off all her hair and hides her beauty under baggy clothes and a baseball cap. But everything begins to unravel when they finally find people whom want them to become part of their family and the truth may tear them all apart.

Angela Scott has written an emotional rollercoaster of a novel with such a surprising twist towards the end that will make you cringe and cry out at the injustice of what has happened. I loved it, my husband on the other hand decided headphones was the way to go after some of the more heinous secrets where revealed. I say this more to point out that it may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it does have one of the best ending I have come across in a long time. I am trying to be as vague as possible so I will not give anything away but also to do this novel justice, it is truly an amazing read so well written and emotional charged that it is hard to set down. Warning though you may want a big box of tissues at hand just in case you turn into a geyser, it’s that good.

Ellie Keaton has just made my “Evil Evil Authors” list. Despite going into the novel with my “tough face” on and determined to read this short story without crying, I did not succeed. I made it through most of it till I hit the end and she did me in. This was a beautiful story of the love and loss that surrounds 9/11. Ellie Keaton managed to create a stunning story in a few short pages that will surely move you, if not you may want to visit a doctor. In the end this is one of those stories that are worth the short yet entertaining read. Not only is the story amazing but the author also donates 15% of the proceeds from this short story to Tuesdayschildren.org which helps children who were affected by 9/11.

Ain’t No Bum By Dennis McCrieght Review

Ain’t No Bum

Milt has lived his entire life with the stigma his father has placed on him, that he is a no good bum just because he would not cow to his father’s ways and fervently stuck to his morals not wanting to be a mean drunk like his old man. One day as he is working with the CCC he walks into walgreens and asks the cute shop girl if they have Prince Albert in a can, from that day on Milt and Vi would be inseparable through thick and thin as Milt continues to live with the utmost integrity.

This was such a beautiful story, not only does the author bring to life truly wonderful characters but he also brings to life the country in which they live from the depression to the polio outbreak he spans decades as the couple begin a family and travel through some of the worst times in history. You will feel a connection with Milt even if you have never been in an abusive family situation the author will pull every heart string until you feel as if you have. From the beginning this novel enraptured me and the author did a wonderful job in rapping up the ending so that you feel complete closure, leaving you with the warm and fuzzies.

Drake along with his wife and daughter has moved out west to begin a new life. They are a happy family he adores his wife and daughter as much as it is physically possible but one night a monster comes into their camp and ruins his life irrevocably, leading Drake on a search for his missing wife after he has been scarred beyond recognition. But soon he finds that the monster is still out there and thirsty for his blood.

 

I do not think I have come across another book like this one, not only is it a fun western but no other author has brought to life the mythological Chupacabra  in such a way. Michael Hebler has definitely stumbled onto a cast of characters and a villain so exceptional that this is a remarkable and fun horror novel. I am not a fan of westerns in any format, I find most of them boring at best, but the way the author blended a good old fashioned western with a monster that has haunted the west for ages is worth the read.
