Addisyn White died two years ago, but three days after her death she was reborn as an angel. Not a full-fledged angel it will take her five years to become one, she is still mostly human and must still go through training with her Link five other angels who will protect her and teach her. There is Hunter her companion in this new life that can read her thoughts and will always share a special connection with and then there is Greysan, handsome and kind and the love of her life. When Addisyn is sleeping on the porch and her Link has left to run an errand a fallen angel stumbles upon her leading to Addisyn being in the greatest danger of her life, and this is just the beginning.

This is an interesting book full of romance and intrigue, the author has taken a new look at angels and most of them are just like all of us. Emmalee Aple creates an intricate and unique world where angels are born or created when a person dies protecting someone else, with elders and companions it is certainly an interesting perspective and then the author brings a beautiful romance to all of this that makes the book worth the read. Though I still have one major question why is Addisyn so important? I am hoping this will be answered in the next book. The only problem I found with this book is that it needs to be edited as it is right now it is riddled with grammatical mistakes but even though this is an issue, Emmalee Aple’s writing is actually quite remarkable.

Adam Tyler is restless he was called to be a pastor but for some reason he never feels fulfilled on his thirtieth birthday he is visited by an angel sent from his mother. When the angel asks him what he wants Adam pulls an “It’s a Wonderful Life” moment and wishes he had never been born but what he doesn’t realize is that even if he had never been born his mother and father would have still procreated only with other people causing there to be two half selves of Adam. This not just Adam’s story but theirs as well and the only way Adam can get home is to change his own perspective of his life.

This was an interesting novel of the power of faith and realizing you are just a drop in a pond but the ripples your life creates are what truly matter. John R. Ford did a wonderful job bringing Adam and his two half selves to life, each one unique and no quite as distant as they may seem at first to each other. Though Victor is a businessman and Chase is a con-artist they all share something at the core of their being that is irreplaceable, goodness and kindness. It’s a heartwarming story that I recommend for anyone to read full of love and cherishing what you have, which is a good lesson for anyone.

Mr. White has issued a challenge the people inside of a seemingly innocuous inn after stranding the four there, if they do not kill one among them then he will kill them all so goes this story making the people inside face their own demons.  Set in backwoods Alabama the strangers face in breeds who are trying to sacrifice them to Mr. White and being trapped in a maze underneath a haunted house. Can they keep true themselves, or will the survival instinct kick in and force them to do the unthinkable?

This book was definitely different I enjoyed the mix of supernatural with psychological unfortunately the book itself was too predictable. From the very beginning I knew what was going on and who Mr. White was I was hoping I would be surprised so I kept reading when it turned out that every new “twist” was exactly as I predicted I was thoroughly disappointed. It was a fun read and the suspense was palpable but do not get your hopes up.

If you’ve read the other books in this series then you know who “Gregori the Gregarious” often referred to as a “play-boy” who’s never wanted to settle down. Someone always the life of the party and would always ensure some comic relief in this series from his crazy ideas, to his outlandish self-confidence.  Well it’s finally his turn to meet a woman who’ll turn his world upside down, and of all people it’s the president’s daughter!  In the last book a video is released of Conner killing Casimir, leading to the world finding out that vampires truly exist.   At the start of this book we find ourselves in a pickle with the Vamps trying to figure out a way to cover up the video.  The President has agreed to have the video discredited if the Vamps will escort his daughter on a mission into China.  Sparks fly from the very moment Gregori lays eyes on Abby, he has promised to keep her safe but who is going to keep her safe from him? 

I came across this series a few years ago. During the time when I was beginning to out-grow the whole “twilight” phase.  Originally I was skeptical, “it would just be another vampire romance.”  That had started blending together into the same collage of characters.  Kerrelyn Sparks managed to surprise me, she is actually funny! This book is no exception.  I always enjoy the way Kerrelyn Sparks can keep things light-hearted and fun but also have the necessary suspense to keep you coming back for more from the maniacal Casimir, to the newest Evil Incarnate. The only problem some people may have is the romance can seem a bit rushed.   The story takes place all in a few days’ time.  Personally I can still feel the relationship building and I don’t mind as much, when you know, you know.  Although a plus for Kerrelyn Sparks’ series is she keeps you up to date on all of her couples, but any book in this series can still be read as a stand-alone novel without losing the audience.  I definitely recommend this book f you want a fun not too “sleazy” romance.
