Eve by Anna Carey Review

Eve
Eve Book One
By Anna Carey

Ninety Eight percent of the world’s population has been wiped out by a deadly virus, leaving many children orphans in the aftermath. Eve is one of these orphans, she lost her mother when she was a child and sent to a school where she became the top of her class and the best student they had seen. Eve looks forward to being sent across the lake to the dorms where the graduates will learn a trade, until she discovers that the girls sent to the dorms will never leave instead they are used to breed children, as many as they possibly can at a single time, after her world has been shattered all Eve can think of is escaping.

Eve (Eve, #1)

This is certainly an interesting novel as we travel along with Eve into the true aftermath of a world that has been left decimated. Once Eve escapes and is in the outside world the author truly brings to life a scary possibility full of gangs and the worst form of human nature possible, but she also shows the best side when Eve reunites with a classmate and is saved by a young man we see both sides of the coin, true love and true evil. Not only is Anna Carey able to create a world that you come to fear, and make you fall in love with each character along the way she also manages to pull on your heartstrings at every possible moment, if you are highly sentimental I recommend a box of tissues by your side as you read this novel. This was a fantastic beginning with an unexpected ending ensuring you will continue on Eve’s journey.

The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks

The Notebook
By Nicholas Sparks

He comes every morning with his tattered notebook to read to her, the story of Noah and Allie. It started with a summer romance, but after that summer they are separated thinking they will never see the other again. Until one day Allie sees a house in a newspaper, it is the house that Noah had always said he would restore and he did. Allie who is engaged to be married decides she needs to see Noah and to tell him of the engagement herself and hopefully be able to move on with her life, but soon they fall in love all over again.

Nicholas Sparks is an evil, evil man I never begin any of his novels without a box of tissues by my side, I have only come across one of his books so far that didn’t leave me in tears, but this novel put the others I have read to shame. It is so beautiful and moving, the love the main characters share is so strong that the thought of it can cause me to emit a heartfelt sigh. I had put off reading this book for a while now because I had seen the movie and if this book was anything like it I knew I would be crying like a baby, but I was not prepared for what awaited me. Whereas the movie focuses a lot on the summer the two spent together this novel focuses on the time that came after and I don’t think it could have been better. I wish I had read this a long time ago it was absolutely amazing.

Rescue Me by Rachel Gibson Review

Rescue Me
Lovett, Texas Series Book Three
By Rachel Gibson

Sadie Hollowell never seemed to fit in, in her hometown of Lovett Texas population ten thousand. As soon as she turned eighteen she escaped the prying eyes of such a small community to live her own life. Now she has come back after not being home for the last five years for her cousins wedding. She’s thirty three unmarried and not looking, making her still an outsider she is determined to get back to her life in Phoenix as soon as the wedding is over but when a family emergency keeps her in Texas longer than she wanted she may as well make the best of it. This is where Vince Haven, former Navy Seal, comes in. What starts out as friends with benefits soon turns into something more at least for Saddie.

Rachel Gibson has managed to write a beautiful romance novel full of drama and a bit of humor. Sadie is not an ordinary girl next door character; she is strong willed and very independent, making this an interesting romance where the woman herself fights her feelings. Though this may seem like an ordinary contemporary romance novel it has an amount of depth that you would not have expected. I truly enjoyed this novel though if you do read it be sure to have tissues by your side.

the Next Always by Nora Roberts Review

The Next Always
Inn BoonsBoro Trilogy Book One
By Nora Roberts

Beckett Montgomery has been infatuated with Clare since he was in high school but when Clare came back home widowed and with three children to raise, he couldn’t bring himself to make her life any more complicated. As Beckett and his two brothers work on restoring the historic and haunted inn things also begin to change between Clare and Beckett. Everything seems to be going perfectly until Clare finds herself with unwanted attention from Sam and arrogant and conceited man who won’t take no for an answer.

Nora Roberts introduces us to her newest trilogy surrounding the inn in BoonsBoro, I have read a few of her trilogies before and so far this one is as promising as her others. Nora Roberts did a wonderful job in pulling you in with a wonderful romance then by adding a ghost and a stalker she adds to the fun, leaving you dying to know what happens next. This book was a bit sad for me I am not sure if others will find it this way but as a military wife when Clare goes into details about her husband and how he was killed in the Iraq war while she was pregnant, it is my worst nightmare but in the end it makes the story so beautiful and touching I couldn’t put it down. If you are a military wife you may want to have tissues on hand just in case but this is definitely worth the read.
