Gabriel March is barely keeping her head above water as her promise to keep her father’s newspaper going may sink her financially. As she is struggling to find a way to pay the electric bill a strange summons comes in the mail from Elizabeth Hastings. Elizabeth is determined to right a terrible wrong that was exacted on Gabrielle March’s family.

This was a great book, full of finding love and becoming a part of a family, but also mystery and intrigue this is a phenomenal romance novel. I loved Elizabeth Hastings though she wasn’t a main character exactly she was my favorite. Elizabeth Hastings is an eccentric rich old lady and Christie McKee truly brings her to life through snippets of her past as well as being a part of the story that is currently taking place. I review the entire book the writing, the story line, the characters, as well as the presentation of the novel. In this case I don’t understand the cover, the only thing that seems to fit is the dog, I mean the story is about a person who becomes super rich and the man she falls in love with who she first mistakes as a millionaire playboy who does nothing with his life. When I see the couple in the picture it does not scream wealth like the characters in the story did. Besides the cover I could not find anything wrong with this novel, the author is an impressive composer and has brought to life some amazing scenes, the storyline is fun and entertaining, it is definitely a book worth reading.

In once was called Chicago the people are divided among five pre-determined factions each one based on a person’s characteristics. But Beatrice Prior has the option of belonging to three of the five she is an anomaly she is divergent, able to manipulate the simulation that is used to determine where she belongs so she has a choice. She chooses Daunted the courageous who push themselves to face their fears in order to protect those around them until the Erudite faction begins to change everything for each of the factions.

It is interesting to think that people could be categorized by their own human behaviors but it is far too unrealistic, no one is enough alike to become an entire colony of people. The factions are inventive however with each one focusing on a set of standards that were used to improve the quality of each person life.  If you can ignore this hiccup it’s not a bad book, well written and the descriptions are so well done you can see yourself in the shambles of what was once a great city. The only other problem I have with this book is that the main character is supposed to become stronger but the way it is written she still seems the same to me hopefully in the next book we will see greater changes.

Diane is on the verge of pulling her hair out as her teenage daughters have been obsessing over a radio give away for free tickets to the concert of NinetySeven, the famous boy band who are scheduled to end their tour in their home town. Soon Diane becomes the coolest mom ever to live as she runs into Michael Carlucci the songwriter and gorgeous youngest member of NinetySeven when Diane is taking a much needed lunch break and his dog comes bounding at her intent on her sandwich to make up for the commotion he offers her tickets to the concert for her daughters and their friends. Soon after this chance meeting Diane and Michael grow close but since Diane is twenty years older than Michael she decides to just go with it and have fun but when she begins to have feelings for him will she be able to overcome her insecurities or will she end up going back to an old flame who comes back into her life.

This was such a beautiful romance, even though I am still in my twenties through Dee Ernst’s fantastic writing I was right there with Diane as she fell in love and I could feel her anxiety at being older than Michael, this to me is the mark of a brilliant writer. When the author introduces an old flame there truly is a point where you wonder who she will end up choosing and you even begin to root for the other guy even though Michael is a heart throb character. This was definitely a remarkable romance a much different than anything out there.

Cassia lives in a world where the Society decides everything even who she can marry and have children with for optimum results. In a world where you are told what you can and cannot eat, where you cannot even run in public Cassia is content but when it comes time to her own match an error occurs she not only sees the face of her childhood best friend but also a boy who is a pariah in the Society, Ky, and should never have been entered into the match. When her grandfather slips her a forbidden poem from his deathbed and she starts to have feelings for Ky, it accumulates and she begins to have strange rebellious feelings towards the Society she has always entrusted.

The perfect Society where you have no choices whatsoever what would it be like to have your entire life broken down into statistics and from those statistics you become completely predictable? What would it be like for someone to be able to find that perfect someone for you and you never have to wonder about whom you will marry you would never even have to worry about divorce because they would be absolutely perfect for you. Allie Condie answers these questions and then brings it to life, yes if you knew nothing else it would seem perfect but when you get a taste of your own freedom what would happen. This was a great book it was well written and believable, you can see yourself in this world and how seemingly perfect it would be. The romance was beautiful and as Cassia deals with her own conflicted feelings the author manages to clearly express them so as we feel them too. I can’t wait until I can read Crossed book two of the Matched series and we can go on adventure with Cassia that I truly hope will not disappoint.
