The Alchemyst by Michael Scott Review

The Alchemyst
The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel Book OneThe Alchemyst (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel, #1)
By Michael Scott

Every legend and myth has a grain of truth, in this book we find out that the “Elders,” or what we call Ancient Gods, are real some are good and some are bad but each have a stake in two teenagers lives. Nicholas Flamel is the keeper of a very peculiar book but one day it is stolen and along with it his wife is kidnapped when Sophie and Josh Newman help Nicholas to escape it comes to everyone’s attention that these two are not ordinary children, but are the twins that where prophesied in the book who will save the world.

This book is a great beginning to a story with a lot of action and events that keep you entertained throughout the book. It has a great premise though this book wasn’t spectacular it promises a series that should be. With witches and vampires along with Gods all warring to protect two people or to destroy but my favorite scene was towards the end when we catch a glimpse at the necromancer’s powers, this is a truly interesting book. The author brought many details into this book which can be a bit of an over load but it was all written so richly and comprehensively that the story becomes enthralling and promising for later books.
